Mr.Kannangara commonly known as the Father of Free Education in Sri Lanka paved way for the common masses to educate their children to Higher Education free of charge through his visionary Ideas and proposals to the Govt. In order to commemorate his service to the nation Gaweshi proposes to erect a statue of Mr. Kannangara in the premises of Education Office at Kasaghawaththa, Gampaha. Land allocation and the necessary permissions were obtained already.

Gaweshi proposes to establish periodical sessions to educate the present/future generation of the character and service provided to all Buddhists and Srilankan Nation by Rev Anagarika Dharmapala. Awakening of Sinhala down trodden masses against Imperialism, Re-establishment of Buddhist Education, Facilitation of Pilgrimage by Buddhists in to the Main sites pertaining to life of Lord Buddha in India through Mahabodhi Society were part of yeoman service rendered to the nation and the world by Rev Anagarika Dharmapala.
